Keelix,
I kept some notes about this from a long time ago.
Problem still exists, according to some tests I ran today.
"Exclude tickers" feature does not exclude "CHG",
"CMDC", "CFLG", or "STE" from output, in job 225646.
This is sufficient to seriously distort reported
results, when one or another of these tickers hits
a day like STE on the December 31 1998 output line,
where it shows a rise of 6,220 percent in a single
month. The tickers CHG CMDC and CFLG also appear in
one or more "warning" messages.
There must be something special about these 4
tickers. Most tickers get excluded, if they appear
in the "Exclude tickers" associated with a job.
Interestingly, in job 225644, these four tickers (CHG
CMDC FLCG and STE) are successfully excluded. In
this job, a bunch of tickers are selected via
"KEEP" statement that is ticker-specific. Then,
all but one of those tickers is also listed in the
"Exclude tickers" list. I omitted the "ABDR" from
the "Exclude tickers" list, to find out whether
precedence was a factor in causing the unwanted
behavior. Apparently, not; or, not the sole factor,
if it is any factor at all.
Regards,
Steve
