Frequently Asked Questions
I get no email after registering
This is most likely due to spam filtering at your or your provider's end. People have reported problems with Hotmail, but there may be similar problems with other providers. Please make sure you check the spam folder if you haven't received the registration email. A user posted the following recipe for getting Hotmail to accept the registration emails:
- Click the option button on the top right side of the screen
- Select "safe and blocked senders" under Junk e-mail header
- Select "safe senders"
- Enter "@keelix.com" in the space provided and press "add to list>>" button
Others have also reported problems with some firewall software. If you are not getting registration emails and/or have trouble logging in, try to disable your firewall software to see if the problem disappears. Our site isn't doing anything special that should trigger any blockage from firewall products, so we do not know why some firewalls have problems. The following software has been reported as creating trouble:
- ZoneAlarm Security Suite
You may have some trouble accessing the old site stuff where some of the HTTP servers are running on a non-standard port (8088 instead of 80), but otherwise there should not be anything special with our site.
The above paragraph is no longer valid; everything should be accessible through the default HTTP port (80).
Data resolution and availability
The backtester has monthly data from 1997-08-31. From 2003-01-03 it has weekly data. Generally, data (and new picks) become available on Sundays, using Friday's closing prices. The backtester assumes trading (buys & sells) is done on Fridays, although that would be impossible. Since data is low-frequency (weekly) and a lot of the screens uses various fundamental measures, tests have shown that delaying trades by a few days, or even a week, normally does not affect the backtests significantly.
